Markward Food Drive for America's Second Harvest

Over a two week span ending August 10th, Markward Group employees gathered over 100 pounds of food for our local America's Second Harvest (A2H) food bank. The food will be distributed to help feed hungry families here in the Lehigh Valley.

"We're very pleased with the success of this food drive," said Markward President Del Markward. "It seems any time you give people a chance to help out their neighbors this way, they always rise to the challenge. I think we all want to help people when we can," he added.

"On behalf of the America's Second Harvest and Markward Group we would like to thank everyone who participated," Del concluded.

A2H is the largest charitable hunger relief organization in the United States. The organization's local chapter is based in Allentown and called the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and NE Pennsylvania.

This year's food drive was conceived and spearheaded by Markward Group Administrative Assistant Donna Webb. "Donna did a fine job coordinating our efforts," said Senior Vice President Ann Kline. "She stepped up and helped us to accomplish something we all should be proud of."

A2H accepts financial donations through their website www.SecondHarvest.org as well as donations of non-perishable items at their local Allentown food bank:
